Welcome to the journey! A journey exploring our inner and outer worlds, seeking
insights, wisdom, and laughter from our travels. Making sense of disarray, finding solace
in loss, basking in bliss, pondering possibilities. That’s what this journey is all about.
Each of us has our own lessons to learn, our own epiphanies, and our own confusions
that lead, perhaps, to clarity. In the pages that follow I’ve shared techniques, takeaways,
and truths that I uncovered on my path. Your journey may be similar to mine, or
completely different, but no matter where your path leads, it is the journey itself that
deserves our focus and receptivity.
Navigating my journey has required me to learn new ways. And after decades of knee-
jerk responses, I had to find a better way to be in this world. My best approach has been
to allow the inner knowing inside of me to be heard. That means getting quiet. And
removing thoughts and conditions that separate me from the stillness. Now I haven’t
fully mastered this, but I have invited it in, and learned to rely on it; inner stillness, inner
wisdom.
These writings were originally published as blog posts over a span of 4 years, written
about the challenges I was dealing with at the time: the Covid pandemic, relocating to
another state, remodeling a home, the loss of 3 friends to cancer, my own cancer journey,
a very long job search, and my mother’s entry into hospice care. So you’ll notice that my
tone varies as I attempted to stay in right alignment with my faith despite the turmoil, as
I learned to prioritize and to listen, which I could only do by becoming still.
I hope these messages resonate with you, and that they offer you the chance to open
yourself to your own journey. Some are specific to the challenges of living in the Covid
era, some are my own life lessons, and all of them are snapshots of milestones on the
journey.
